The game between Panathinaikos and Fenerbahce, the third round of EuroLeague with a 83-69 defeat for the “greens,” was marked by tensions between Kostas Sloukas and Scottie Wilbekin, which could have escalated into a general brawl. After the match, the Fenerbahce playmaker explained in an interview with Turkish media what happened.
“They were trying to make their huddle in the middle of the court, right on our team logo. I thought this wasn’t right,” he told Eurohoops after the match.
“I always say and believe that our team should be right in the middle. I will do this after every match,” Wilbekin continued. “We have to be in the middle, put our hands together, and make our huddle. They can go anywhere else on the court.”
