Victor Wembanyama is no stranger to superlatives: the San Antonio Spurs rookie is proving to be an uncommon talent, averaging 21.4 points, 10.6 rebounds, 3.9 assists and 3.6 steals per game this season. In the game against the Denver Nuggets, which his Spurs won by a score of 121-120, Wembanyama was the man of the comeback without a doubt. In fact, with the score 81-60 in favor of Jokic and his teammates, the tall Frenchman scored 17 of his team’s 19 points in a three-minute span, 17 of his team’s 19 points in that period, bringing the Spurs back to -8 and reopening a game that seemed to be heading in a different direction. By the end of the game, Wembanyama had scored a game-high 34 points and grabbed 12 rebounds to go along with 5 assists and 2 stoppate.
