Sacramento Kings agree to deal with former No. 1 pick Markelle Fultz

Markelle Fultz has signed with the Sacramento Kings, who were searching for a point guard after trading De'Aaron Fox at the deadline

The Sacramento Kings have reached an agreement with free agent Markelle Fultz, his agent Raymond Brothers told ESPN. The Kings had been searching for a point guard since trading De’Aaron Fox at the trade deadline.

Fultz, the No. 1 overall pick in the 2017 NBA Draft, drew interest from multiple teams after recovering from injury. He ultimately chose Sacramento among a few finalists. His agent confirmed that he is now fully healthy and ready to play.

The 26-year-old spent the past 5½ seasons with the Orlando Magic, serving as a starter for two seasons. In his best campaign, 2022-23, he averaged 13.9 points, 5.7 assists, and 3.9 rebounds in 29.6 minutes.
