Lakers to acquire Russell Westbrook for Kuzma, Harrell, Caldwell-Pope and first round pick

The Los Angeles Lakers are acquiring Russell Westbrook from the Washington Wizards.

The Lakers will send Kyle Kuzma, Montrezl Harrell, who opted in of his $9.7 million deal for next season, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope and the 22nd pick of tonight’s draft for Russell Westbrook.

The former MVP wants to leave the Wizards and has the Lakers as his preferred destination.

 

76ers want Wiggins, Wiseman, Nos. 7&14 picks in tonight draft, two future first-rounders for Simmons

Philadelphia 76ers requests for Ben Simmons are unbelievale.
According to the Philadelphia Inquirer, the Golden State Warriors asked the price for the Australian guard.

The Sixers asked for Andrew Wiggins, James Wiseman, the Nos. 7 and 14 picks in tonight’s NBA draft along with two future first-rounders in exchange for Ben Simmons, according to multiple sources. The Warriors quickly turned down the offer.
This comes after a source confirmed The Ringer report that the Sixers asked the San Antonio Spurs for four first-round picks, three first-round pick swaps and a young player in exchange for Simmons.
According to The Action Network, the Toronto Raptors rejected the Sixers’ asking price of Kyle Lowry, Fred VanVleet, OG Anunoby and the fourth pick in tonight’s draft for a package that included Simmons.

According to Darren Wolfson, Celtics, Clippers and Lakers are 3 of the teams interested in Ricky Rubio.
Rubio scored 46 points for Spain in two games at the Tokyo Olympics.

The point guard has another year on his contract with the Timberwolves for about $ 17.8 million.

NBA Draft 2021: Detroit Pistons to select Cade Cunningham with first overall pick

According to Adrian Wojnarowski, the Detroit Pistons have decided to select Cade Cunningham with the first overall pick in tonight’s NBA Draft.

The Atlanta Hawks listened to trade offers for Cam Reddish at the trade deadline and are again listening now, sources tell The Athletic’s Chris Kirshner. Hawks will enter the draft with the 20th pick and could use Reddish and that selection to move up.

Reddish is currently considered fourth in Atlanta’s wing rotation behind De’Andre Hunter, Bogdan Bogdanovic and Kevin Huerter. He played well when he returned from an Achilles injury during the playoffs.

The Cleveland Cavaliers have shown more willingness to move out of the top-3 than either the Detroit Pistons or Houston Rockets, reports Chad Ford.

The Cavaliers are further along in their hopes of competing for a playoff spot than either the Pistons or Rockets. If the Oklahoma City Thunder are able to move up, the Cavaliers are the most likely trade partner.

Montrezl Harrell could be part of Lakers trade package for Buddy Hield

The Los Angeles Lakers and Sacramento Kings have been engaged in discussions on a Kyle Kuzma for Buddy Hield swap, reports Sam Amick of The Athletic.

As that deal would require more salary from the Lakers side, Montrezl Harrell could also be headed to the Kings. In order for Harrell to be traded to Sacramento, he would need to exercise his $9.7M player option for 2021-22.

According to Adrian Wojnarowski, Memphis Grizzlies and New Orleans Pelicans are finalizing the final details for a trade that will involve both players and draft picks.

The Toronto Raptors have extended the Qualifying Offer to Gary Trent Jr and Nando De Colo.
