The guard comes will re-unite with Lebron James and joins the Lakers for the Orlando’s bubble.

Nets to sign Justin Anderson

The Brooklyn Nets have reached an agreement with Justin Anderson.
Anderson will replace Wilson Chandler who opted out of not playing in Orlando’s bubble.
Anderson has played three games with the Nets this season.

Nets’ Wilson Chandler opts out of playing in Orlando

Wilson Chandler has informed the Brooklyn Nets that he is opting out of playing in Orlando when the NBA season resumes.

“As difficult as it will be to not be with my teammates, the health and well-being of my family has to come first. Thank you to the Nets organization for understanding and supporting me in this decision, and I will be watching and rooting for our team in Orlando,” Chandler told ESPN’s Malika Andrews.

The 8 NBA non-bubble teams reportedly interested in playing games at a secondary site

The NBA and NBPA are holding discussions about a possible second site for the eight teams not participating in the Orlando restart. The Charlotte Hornets, Chicago Bulls, New York Knicks, Atlanta Hawks, Minnesota Timberwolves, Cleveland Cavaliers and Golden State Warriors face a scenario where they will go nearly 9 months without playing a competitive game.

According to The Athletic’s Sam Amick, there is significant support from most of those eight teams about the concept. The Cavaliers, Pistons and Hawks have been the most vocal among the group in support of the idea. The Knicks have expressed reservations, at least in part because they have a roster with several pending free agents.

Philadelphia 76ers sign Ryan Broekhoff

Philadelphia 76ers General Manager Elton Brand announced on Jun. 27 that the team has signed Ryan Broekhoff. Per team policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Earlier this season, Broekhoff appeared in 17 games for Dallas, posting 4.2 points and 2.5 rebounds in 10.6 minutes per game. In two NBA seasons, both with the Mavericks, he’s seen action in 59 total games, connecting on over 40-percent of his three-point attempts.

Tyler Cook reportedly joining Denver on two-way contract

The Denver Nuggets are expected to sign forward Tyler Cook to their open two-way spot, Nick Kosmider reports.
This year the big man out of Iowa averaged 12.8 points and 5.6 rebounds over 29 G League games between Canton Charge and the Oklahoma City Blue.

NBA will allow coaches, players to wear polo shirts on bench during games

The NBA has modified its dress code for the 19-20 restart within the bubble, as reported by The Athletic’s Shams Charania

Players will not be required to wear a sport coat while on the bench and can wear either short or long-sleeve polos for team and league business.

Coaches can also wear either short or long-sleeve NBA polo shirts. The dress code will resemble what coaches wear for FIBA events.

Vince Carter announces retirement

Vince Carter officially announced that his professional career is over.
Carter leaves the NBA after 22 seasons, the last ones spent with the Atlanta Hawks.

He was Rookie of the Year in 1999, made eight All-Star teams, and was one of the best dunkers in the history of the sport. He was also one of the best veteran mentors in the league,

Knicks want to hire their new head coach by end of July

The goal of the New York Knicks is to hire the new head coach by the end of July.

Per ESPN, Speaking in his first interview since he was hired in March, Rose told MSG Network’s Mike Breen that he intends to have “two phases” of interviews, conducting short meetings with candidates to “break the ice” before having “full interviews” with possible coaches.

“We’re looking at a lot of different people with a lot of different mindsets, philosophies,” Rose told Breen. “And for me personally, this is educational, and I need to make sure that we go through this process and we dot every I and cross every T in order to make the right decision.”

“We want to find the right leader that can develop our young players as well as hold everyone accountable,” Rose said.

Kings’ Len, Parker and Hield tested positive for Covid-19

Three players of the Sacramento Kings have tested positive for Covid-19.
Buddy Hield, Jabari Parker and Alex Len.

Per ESPN, “Several days ago I tested positive for COVID-19 and immediately self-isolated in Chicago which is where I remain,” Parker said in a statement released by the team. “I am progressing in my recovery and feeling well. I look forward to joining my teammates in Orlando as we return to the court for the resumption of the NBA season.”
In a story post on Instagram, Len said he was tested Tuesday in Sacramento, California.

“I want to thank the Sacramento Kings for their great care and the NBA for putting the protocols in place to allow me to catch this early,” Len’s statement said. “I have immediately entered isolation and look forward to being cleared and rejoining my teammates for our playoff push.”

Thunder Signs Luguentz Dort to Multi-Year Contract

The Oklahoma City Thunder has signed guard Luguentz Dort to a multi-year contract, it was announced today by Executive Vice President and General Manager Sam Presti. Per team policy, terms of the agreement were not released.

During the 2019-20 season, Dort has appeared in 29 games (21 starts) for the Thunder and averaged 6.2 points to go along with 1.9 rebounds and 0.79 steals in 22.0 minutes. Oklahoma City has posted a 16-5 record (.762) with Dort in the team’s starting lineup this season.

The Montreal, Canada native scored a career-best 23 points Jan. 29 at Sacramento after shooting 5-of-6 from beyond the 3-point arc and became just the fourth Thunder rookie to knock down five or more threes in a single game. Additionally, Dort registered the second-best shooting night by a Thunder rookie on Feb. 23 versus San Antonio when he went a perfect 6-of-6 from the field en route to 15 points during the Thunder’s victory versus the Spurs.

Dort was signed to a Two-Way Contract by the Thunder last July after one season at Arizona State where he earned Pac-12 Freshman of the Year and Pac-12 All-Defense Team honors.

Houston Rockets sign David Nwaba, waive Isaiah Hartenstein

Houston Rockets General Manager Daryl Morey today announced that the team has signed free agent guard/forward David Nwaba (NWAH-buh).

Nwaba (6-5, 219) was eligible for the 2016 NBA Draft following his senior season at Cal Poly.  In four NBA seasons, he has appeared in 161 games with 37 starts while averaging 6.9 points, 3.7 rebounds, and 1.1 assists.

In 20 games for Brooklyn this season, Nwaba shot 42.9% from 3-point range.  He is shooting 49.2% from the floor for his career and was named All-NBA Development League All-Defensive Team in 2016-17.

In a related move, the Rockets have waived center Isaiah Hartenstein.  He was the 43rd pick by Houston in the 2017 NBA Draft and appeared in a total of 51 games as a Rocket.

The former South Carolina swingman was one of the 2 two-way players of the team.
Before the suspension Dozier was averaging 4.1 points and 1.4 assist per game.

William Wesley will be Executive Vice President/Senior Advisor of New York Knicks .

Wesley has been a consultant in the coaching division of CAA for 13 years and has a long professional and personal relationship with new Knicks president Leon Rose.

JR Smith leading candidate to replace Avery Bradley on Lakers roster

JR Smith is the front runner to replace Avery Bradley with the Los Angeles Lakers.

Smith has not played in NBA since November 2018 when he was a member of the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Per ESPN, Lakers president of basketball operations Rob Pelinka and Smith’s agent, Rich Paul of Klutch Sports, were discussing a possible agreement Tuesday night and were expected to speak again Wednesday, sources said.

Nets waive Theo Pinson, agreed to terms with Tyler Johnson

The Brooklyn Nets have waives Theo Pinson, as reported by Shams Charania, and reached an agreement with Tyler Johnson.
Johnson was close to the Nets in 2016 when he signed a $50 million offer sheet matched by the Miami Heat.

Lakers’ Avery Bradley will not play in Orlando for family reasons

Los Angeles Lakers guard Avery Bradley has decided to opt out of NBA restart due to family reasons.

Per ESPN, Bradley, who started 44 games for the Lakers this season, informed team management of his decision. The Lakers will be able to sign a replacement player for Bradley, with free-agent scorer JR Smith emerging as a leading candidate , sources told ESPN.

At the forefront of Bradley’s decision to remain with his family is the well-being of his oldest child, his 6-year-old son, Liam. Bradley and his wife, Ashley, have three children.

Liam Bradley has a history of struggling to recover from respiratory illnesses, and it’s unlikely that he would have been medically cleared to enter the Orlando bubble with his family.
“As committed to my Lakers teammates and the organization as I am, I ultimately play basketball for my family,” Avery Bradley said. “And so, at a time like this, I can’t imagine making any decision that might put my family’s health and well-being at even the slightest risk.
“As promised also, I will use this time away to focus on the formation of projects to help strengthen my communities.

Rockets to sign David Nwaba to two-year deal

The Houston Rockets have signed David Nwaba to a two-year contract.
Nwaba will not play in Orlando’s bubble because he is rehabbing from an injury but he will still get 900.000 USD.

The Rockets will have a player option for next season.

Nikola Jokic tests positive for COVID-19

Denver Nuggets star Nikola Jokic has tested positive for COVID-19 in Serbia. Jokic was scheduled to return to the United States, but his travel plans are temporarily delayed.

As reported by ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski and Brian Windhorst, Jokic has been asymptomatic since testing positive last week. The Serbian is expected to be cleared to travel back to Denver within a week.
