Minnesota extend qualifying offer to Juancho Hernangomez, making him RFA

According to Michael Scotto of Hoopshype, the Minnesota Timberwolves have extended a qualifying offer to Spanish forward Juancho Hernangomez, making him a restricted free agent.

In 12 games played with Minnesota after a mid-season trade from Denver, Hernangomez averaged 12.9 points and 7.3 rebounds per game last season.

Thunder acquire Vincent Poirier from Celtics

The Oklahoma City Thunder have acquired center Vincent Poirier and cash considerations from Boston in exchange for a protected 2021 second-round draft pick, it was announced today by Executive Vice President and General Manager Sam Presti.

Poirier (7-0, 235) appeared in 22 games during his rookie season with Boston, registering averages of 1.9 points and 2.0 rebounds in 5.9 minutes per contest, shooting 47.2 percent from the floor and 85.7 percent from the free throw line. The French native also saw action in four games on assignment with the Maine Red Claws of the NBA G League, averaging 16.3 points, 9.0 rebounds, 2.3 assists and a team-leading 3.00 blocks in 26.5 minutes per game, shooting 62.2 percent from the field and 90.0 percent from the charity stripe.

Kings’ Bogdan Bogdanovic aiming to a 4-year, $72M deal?

Serbian guard Bogdan Bogdanovic reportedly believes he can get a four-year offer for more than what the Milwaukee Bucks can do in a sign-and-trade with the Sacramento Kings. ESPN’s Brian Windhorst reports that Bogdanovic is aiming to a 4-year, $72 million deal in free agency.

Bogdanovic is a restricted free agent, and that gives Sacramento the opportunity to match any possible offer sheet via the market. The NBA, meanwhile, has opened an investigation into the Bucks’ previous sign-and-trade reported agreement with the Kings over Bogdanovic.

Golden State finalizing trade to acquire Kelly Oubre Jr. for a 2021 protected first-round pick

Golden State Warriors finalized a trade to acquire OKC forward Kelly Oubre Jr. for a 2021 protected first-round NBA draft pick.

The Warriors will convey that pick to the Thunder next season only should they finish 21st to 30th in the final regular-season standings. If the Warriors land in the top 20, they’ll send two second-round picks to Oklahoma City, sources said.

Bradley will become unrestricted free agent after having declined the $5 million player option.

Knicks aggressively pursuing Gordon Hayward if he declines $34 million player option

Gordon Hayward is leaning towards declining his $34 million player option in his contract with the Boston Celtics to become unrestricted free agent.
If he does not pick up the option, it is because he has a promise of a multi-year deal when free agency begins.
And the Knicks seem the team ready to make a huge bid to bring Hayward in New York.

Hammonds ended his junior season at Georgia with 12.9 points and 7.4 rebounds.

Hawks trade Dewayne Dedmon to Pistons for Tony Snell, Khyri Thomas

The Atlanta Hawks have traded Dewayne Dedmon to the Detroit Pistons for Tony Snell and Khyri Thomas, Adrian Wojnarowski reports.

Last year Dedmon averaged 8.1 points and 8.2 rebounds in the 10 games played for the Hawks.
Snell, who is on an expiring $12.2 million contract, last season produced 8 points and 2.1 assist per game.

Lakers’ JaVale McGee to exercise $4.2 million player option for 2020-21 season

Los Angeles Lakers big man JaVale McGee has decided to exercise the $4.2 million player option on the final year of his contract, Shams Charania reports.

Last year McGee averaged 6.5 points, 5.7 rebounds and 1.4 blocks per game.

Dallas Mavericks guard Tim Hardaway Jr has decided to exercise the $19 million player option on the final year of his contract, Tim McMahon reports.

Hardaway ended last year with averages of 15.8 points and 1.9 assist, shooting 40% from beyond the arc on over 7 attempts per game.

New York Knicks decline TO on Bobby Portis, waive Taj Gibson, Elfrid Payton

The New York Knicks have decided to free up salary space ahead of tomorrow’s Free Agency.

According to Shams Charania, the team declined the option in Bobby Portis’s contract (15.7 million) and waived Taj Gibson (10.2, one million guaranteed) and Elfrid Payton (8 million, one guaranteed).

The Knicks have yet to decide what to do with Wayne Ellington (8 million, one guaranteed) and Reggie Bullock’s (4.2, one guaranteed) contracts.

The undrafted big man ended his senior year at William & Mary with averages of 20.7 points, 10.5 rebounds and 1.5 blocks.

Oklahoma City Thunder big man Mike Muscala has decided to exercise the player option on the final year of his contract, Adrian Wojnarowski reports.
Muscala ended last season with 4.8 points and 2.3 rebounds per game, shooting 37% from beyond the arc.
