Kevin Hervey, Nico Mannion, Amedeo Tessitori and Michele Ruzzier expected to leave Virtus Bologna

A few players are expected to leave Virtus Bologna in the offseason.

According to Il Corriere dello Sport Kevin Hervey, Nico Mannion, Amedeo Tessitori and Michele Ruzzier are unlikely to remain.

Hervey signed a two-year deal last summer but after the injury he suffered in the middle of the season he did not perform as expected.

Amedeo Tessitori is moving in Venezia.

Michele Ruzzier is leaving.

Nico Mannion will likely be offered a multi-year deal by Virtus Bologna and may play a season on loan.

John Fulkerson to join Leuven Bears

Former Tennessee forward John Fulkerson is expected to start his pro career in Belgium with the Leuven Bears of the BNXT League, sources told Sportando.

Fulkerson averaged 7.4ppg and 4.7rpg as a senior in NCAA.

Olimpia Milano signs Stefano Tonut

Olimpia Milano agreed on a two-year contract with Stefano Tonut, born in Cantù, on November 7, 1993, 1.94 mt tall, coming from Reyer Venezia where he spent the last seven seasons. “Stefano has been one of the best and most consistent Italian players over the last few seasons, he is a winner, has great skills and is coming to Milano right when he is about to enter his prime and the total awareness of his potential,” Olimpia’s general manager Christos Stavropoulos said. “I’m so happy and excited to make a dream of mine come true and paly for a top-level team, both in Italy and Europe, like Olimpia. WHO’S TONUT – Stefano Tonut is born in Cantù, but he was raised in Trieste and started his basketball journey by playing for the Azzurra local team. Eventually, he spent one year in Monfalcone and then moved to Pallacanestro Trieste where he remained until 2015 (he averaged 19.2 points per game in his last second division season) when he was signed by Venezia. He stayed there for the following seven season, helping his team win two Italian league championships, in 2017 and 2019, the 2020 Italian Cup, the 2017 Fiba Europe Cup. In 2021 he was named Italian league MVP (he averaged 16.2 points, 4.0 rebounds and 2.9 assists per game, shooting 39.8 percent from three-point range). During his last season in Venezia, he averaged 14.0 points per game on top of 3.1 rebounds. He had a 51-game experience in the Eurocup with career averages of 7.9 points per game. Over the last season, he has scored 169 points, 10.1 per game.

Germani Brescia part ways with Lee Moore, close to extending David Moss

Germani Brescia announced the departure of Lee Moore.

The Italian team reached an agreement in principle with David Moss to extend the contract of the American forward.
Moss will start the season as a player only in EuroCup and not in Serie A. Moss will sign a long-term contract and when he retires he will continue his career as a manager in the team.

Christian Burns is expected to remain in Brescia for two more seasons while the Italian club is negotiating a contract extension with Kenny Gabriel.

Pressey has spent the past two seasons in Germany with Oldenburg.

Maccabi Tel Aviv signs Guy Pnini

The veteran forward, who lifted the EuroLeague title with Maccabi in 2014, returns after five seasons. Pnini: “I’m delighted to come back home, I missed it”

The experience, the intelligence and the heart. Lots of heart. Now he is back home. Maccabi Playtika Tel Aviv signed Guy Pnini on a one year contract, with an option for one more year. The veteran forward, who played eight aeason in Yad Eliyahu and captained the team that won the 2014 EuroLeague title, returns to the club he grew in.

“I am delighted to come back home, to where I grew and learned to play basketball”, said Guy Pnini to maccabi.co.il, “I am excited to once again wear the yellow jersey and meet the fans Iove so much in the arena. I missed it. I’m sure that it will be a very exciting season, and I will see you soon”.

Maccabi’s head coach, Oded Kattash, welcomed Pnini: “I am very happy that Guy Pnini joins us and returns home. Guy has immense experience and there’s no need to expand about his basketball IQ. He will help us on the court and off it. I trust him and sure our fans will be happy to see him with the yellow jersey again”.

“The boy is back home”, celebrated club chairman Shimon Mizrahi, “I send a warm hug to Guy on his return. As a player who went through all of Maccabi youth categories and later won with 13 titles with us, including the 2014 EuroLeague, 3 league championships, 8 Israeli cups and the Adriatic league, and as a player who still plays on the Israeli national team, you can certainly say he is ש remarkable player. Guy Pnini was born on September 4th, 1983 and grew up, as mentioned, in Maccabi Tel Aviv’s renowned youth system. He joined Ironi Raanana, later named Bnei HaSharon, and went on to win to cups with Hapoel Jerusalem. He moved to Belgrade, spent time in Cyprus and in 2009 returned to Maccabi – this time with the senior team.

With Maccabi, Pnini achieved three Israeli championships and eight Israeli cups, won the Adriatic league and famously lifted the EuroLeague title in 2014 as the captain. In 2017 he left Maccabi for Holon, where he won a cup, a league title and the Balkan League.
