Scaligera Verona has announced the arrival of Alessandro Cappelletti.

The pointguard has signed a contract until 2024.

Last year Cappelletti produced 12.9 points, 5.1 assists and 1.7 steals per game with Udine, in the second Italian Division.

Chorale Roanne signs rookie Silvio De Sousa

Silvio De Sousa is a new player of Chorale Roanne, as announced by the French team.

The Angolan big man spent five seasons in NCAA, four with Kansas and the last with Chattanooga, where he averaged 10.9 points, 6.8 rebounds and a block per game.

De Sousa signed a contract for the 2022-23 season.

Reyer Venezia is showing serious interest in Jordan Parks, a source told Sportando’s Emiliano Carchia.

The forward, who signed a two-year extension with GeVi Napoli in April, put together averages of 14.3 points, 7.3 rebounds and 1.5 steals per game last season, shooting 44% from the field, 27% from long range and 77% from the foul line.

 

Jeffery Taylor reportedly in talks with Valencia Basket

According to Home of Glory, Jeffery Taylor is in talks with Valencia Basket.

The Vanderbilt product left Real Madrid after 7 seasons.

Last year Taylor averaged 3.9 points and 1.5 rebounds in 15 minutes per game between ACB and Euroleague.

Nick Weiler-Babb to sign extension with Bayern Munich

According to Robert Heusel, Nick Weiler-Babb has reached an agreement to extend his contract with Bayern Munich.

The Iowa State product spent two seasons with the German team, the last one averaging 7.4 points, 4 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 1.2 steals between BBL and Euroleague.

The reporter adds that Weiler-Babb could get a German passport in the summer.

Maccabi Tel Aviv reportedly in advanced talks with T.J. Leaf

Maccabi Tel Aviv continues to be a major player on the Euroleague market.

The Israeli team has reached an agreement with big man Josh Nebo, and is close to finalizing the signing of T.J. Leaf, according to Moshe Barda.

The power forward from UCLA, a Tel Aviv native, spent last season in China with the Guangzhou Loong Lions (24.6 ppg, 12 rpg, 3.3 apg, 1.8 spg, 1.6 bpg).

 

CSKA Moscow signs Dejan Davidovac

A native of Zrenjanin began playing professional basketball in his hometown at the age of 16, then he left to Vrsac, and in 2015 he became the European champion with the Serbian U20 team, after which the first contract with Crvena Zvezda was signed – however, two more year he played for FMP on loan.

 

In Zvezda, the player spent five seasons as one of the main players – he started 31 out of 109 Euroleague games played during this period, averaged 19.2 minutes, 6.2 points, 2.8 rebounds, 1.1 assists and 38% three-pointers.

 

Davidovac averaged 5.0 points, 3.3 rebounds, 0.9 assists in 28 Euroleague games, 6.9 points, 3.2 rebounds, 0.9 assists in 30 Adriatic League games.

He can be seen as a point forward who can dribble, shoot and pass the ball. In his Euroleague seasons with Zvezda he showed that he is a team first player who is not selfish but likes to connect the guards and the bigs. Olimpia Milano names Peppe Poeta and Dan Shamir assistant coaches

Olimpia Milano has completed its new coaching staff with Dan Shamir, who takes the spot of Gianmarco Pozzecco, and Peppe Poeta who takes over from Marco Esposito. Mario Fioretti has been named the “Lead Assistant Coach” and Stefano Bizzozero is staying as another assistant coach.

WHO IS DAN SHAMIR – Born on September 2, 1975, in Jerusalem, Shamir began coaching in the Hapoel youth academy, becoming assistant coach of the first team in 2001, after a year spent at the University of Kentucky under Rick Pitino. Eventually, he moved to Maccabi and was part of the staff that won the EuroLeague in 2004 and 2005. In 2006, he returned to Hapoel Jerusalem as its head coach, winning the Israeli Cup twice. In 2008, he became the assistant to David Blatt at Dynamo Moscow, in 2009 he was head coach of Bnei Hasharon, then of Hapoel Holon. In 2013/14 he was an assistant to Ettore Messina at CSKA Moscow, winning the VTB League and reaching the EuroLeague Final Four again. At the end of that experience, he coached Hapoel Eilat, returned in 2015 to Hapoel Holon with which in 2018 he won his third Israel Cup and reached the playoff championship series. He was named coach of the year in Israel that season. In 2019, he moved to the New Zealand Breakers participating in the Australian league where he remained until May 2022. He was also assistant to the Israel national team at the 2011 European Championships.

WHO IS PEPPE POETA – Born in Battipaglia on 12 September 1985, he has just announced his retirement from his playing career. During it, he played in Salerno, Veroli, made his Serie A debut in Teramo and then was at Virtus Bologna, Baskonia and Manresa in Spain, then Trento, Torino, Reggio Emilia and Cremona. He played 120 games with the national team and won the 2019 Italian Cup with Torino.
