Virtus Bologna CEO Baraldi: We won’t sign any player, roster equipped to achieve our goals

Virtus Bologna CEO confirmed what Sergio Scariolo said in press conference after win to Barcelona: Virtus Bologna won’t make any move on the market.


“There will not be any move. We have received requests for some of our players but we have refused them and we will not even sign any player because we believe we have a roster equipped to achieve the seasonal targets”.

Virtus Bologna was interested in Achille Polonara.

Gevi Napoli Basket announced the arrival of Joseph Michael Young.

The guard started the season in Greece with Promitheas.

In the Hellenic league the guard scored 16 points per game, with 2.2 rebounds and 2.2. assists.

Young is also Eurocup’s leading scorer with 23.4 points per contest plus 3.9 assists.

Achille Polonara once again close to joining Virtus Bologna

Achille Polonara is once again close to joining Virtus Bologna which offered him a deal through 2025, a source told Sportando.
Polonara is set to leave Anadolu Efes Istanbul after Chris Singleton’s return in Turkey.

Polonara was close in the summer to joining Virtus Bologna but at the end of the day he decided to accept the proposal made by the two-time EuroLeague champions.

Polonara was also a target of Crvena Zvezda but the ban imposed by EuroLeague on the Serbian team that won’t be allowed to register new players till February 28 has stalled the discussions.

Virtus Bologna is in first position in Serie A and is fighting for a spot in EuroLeague playoffs.

Jabari Parker’s agent, Nuno Pedroso, denied that the former NBA player is close to reaching an agreement with Partizan Belgrade, as reported by Telegraf.rs.

He had offers from two NBA teams and was close to signing, but in the end there was no agreement and now we are looking at other options, primarily overseas. As for Partizan, nothing is close. After parting ways with the Dallas Mavericks a number of Euroleague teams reportedly submitted offers for the former Oregon guard, but now seems that the last two left in the race are Fenerbahce and Olympiacos.

Dorsey reportedly turned down a rich offer from AS Monaco because he plans to sign a contract for next year as well, while the French team’s proposal was until the end of this season.

Nick Young, 37-year-old guard with 11 NBA seasons under his belt, will play in the 2023 Dubai International Championship with Philippine team Strong Group.

Swaggy P confirmed the news on Twitter.

His new coach, Charles Tiu, commented on the deal (via Spin.ph): “I got a chance to speak with Nick a few weeks ago just to see how serious he was to play for our team. It was a nice chance to get to know him a bit. He said he wants to prove he can still play and has been staying in shape,”

For the tournament, scheduled for Jan. 27 to Feb. 5, Strong Group also signed Renaldo Balkman and Sedrick Barefield.

According to Caglar Torun, Anadolu Efes has agreed with Besiktas on a trade that will bring big man Furkan Haltalı to Coach Ataman’s team in exchange for Egemen Guven and Omercan İlyasoğlu.

Haltalı is a 20-year-old center who was producing 6.2 points and 4 rebounds in 15 minutes per game with Besiktas.
