Earl Clark signs with Gigantes de Carolina

The Gigantes de Carolina have announced the arrival of Earl Clark.

The former NBA forward arrives from the NLEX Road Warriors, where he recorded over 31 points and 15 rebounds per game in the PBA Commissioners Cup.

Kendrick Ray joins Reyer Venezia

Umana Reyer Venezia announced the arrival of Kendrick Ray with a contract until the end of the season.

The guard started the season with BC Igokea (15 PPG, 3.5 APG, 45% FG in ABA LIGA).

Peristeri lands Ian Hummer, close to announce loan of Nikos Chougaz

Peristeri strengthens the roster with 2 players.
The Greek team has already announced the signing of Ian Hummer and should soon do the same with the loan of Nikos Chougaz from Panathinaikos.

Hummer arrives from Galatasaray, where he averaged 5.6 points and 2.1 rebounds between BSL and BCL.

 

 

Austin Tilghman signs with FMP Meridian

FMP Meridian has announced the arrival of Austin Tilghman on a one-month deal with an option until the end of the season.

The guard arrives from Le Portel, where he played just 3 games.

Last year Tilghman had a good season in Ravenna (15.2 PPG, 5.2 RPG, 3.9 APG, 1.7 SPG).

Reyer Venezia reportedly interested in Andrew Andrews

Reyer Venezia is making a move on the market to strengthen the backcourt, which is expected to lose Allerik Freeman soon.

The former NC State guard has reportedly already reached an agreement with Besiktas.

Among the options to replace Freeman, Reyer Venezia would be monitoring Andrew Andrews, a Panathinaikos guard who has been out of the team for some time.

The news was reported by Christos Harpidis and Tomer Givati.

 

Dimitris Agravanis inks multi-year deal with Panathinaikos

Panathinaikos OPAP has signed Dimitris Agravanis (29, 2.08 meters) till the end of the 2024-2025 season.

Agravanis is a basketball player, born on December 20, 1994 in Marousi, Athens. He is a power forward who last played for Peristeri.

He enrolled at the local youth system academy of then Greek club Maroussi Athens as a kid, where he eventually made the club’s first team, and signed a professional contract with them in 2010..

Agravanis began his professional career in 2010, with the Greek Basket League club Maroussi Athens, and in 2012, he made a move to the Greek League club Panionios Athens, where he also competed in the European-wide 2nd-tier level EuroCup competition.

In 2013, he signed with Olympiacos Piraeus. At the beginning of his first season, Olympiacos Piraeus won the 2013 edition of the FIBA Intercontinental Cup title.

In the 2014–15 season, Agravanis averaged 6.4 points per game, in 14.4 minutes per game in the Greek League, and 4.1 points per game, in 12.5 minutes per game in the EuroLeague.

With Olympiacos Piraeus, he also won the Greek League championship in 2015 and 2016.

Agravanis signed with the Greek EuroCup club Promitheas Patras in 2019. He averaged 8.2 points and 5.5 rebounds per game in the EuroCup’s 2019–20 season. He re-signed with the team on July 15, 2020. During the 2021-22 season, in 29 league games, Agravanis averaged 14 points, 6.3 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.2 steals, playing around 25 minutes per contest.

On September 27, 2022, Napoli Basket officially announced that they had signed Agravanis on a monthly contract with an option for the rest of the season. In 5 games with the Italian club, he averaged 8.2 points and 4.8 rebounds per game.

On November 4, 2022, Agravanis signed a contract with Peristeri, averaged 10.9 points and 5.1 rebounds per game.

On June 25, 2015, Agravanis was selected with the 59th overall pick, of the 2015 NBA draft, by the NBA’s Atlanta Hawks. His draft rights were then traded to the Cleveland Cavaliers in 2017, and were then traded to the Sacramento Kings a year later.

Agravanis has also been a member of the senior men’s Greek national team. He was selected to Greece’s roster for the 2016 Turin FIBA World Olympic Qualifying Tournament. He also played with Greece at the 2017 EuroBasket.

In September, Agravanis participated in the EuroBasket 2022, representing Greece. Throughout the tournament, Agravanis averaged 6.3 points, 3.7 rebounds and 1.1 assist

Julian Gamble in advanced talks with Reyer Venezia

Umana Reyer Venezia and Julian Gamble are very close to finalizing an agreement, a source told Sportando.

Gamble played in Italy with Virtus Bologna from 2019 to 2021, also winning a championship.

Most recently he was in the Spanish ACB with Tenerife and San Pablo Burgos and then in the Israeli Winner League with Bnei Herzliya (11.6 PPG, 6.6RPG, 58% FG).

Panathinaikos in talks with Matt Thomas

According to SDNA, Dejan Radonic has put shooter Matt Thomas at the top of his “wish list” to strengthen Panathinaikos.

The Greek team has reportedly already sent an offer to the former Iowa State, who spent the last 3 seasons in the NBA between Raptors, Jazz and Bulls.

Thomas helped Valencia win the Eurocup in 2019.

Olimpia Milano signs Shabazz Napier

Olimpia Milano has reached an agreement until the end of the season with Shabazz Napier, a 1.83 mt tall point guard, born on July 14, 1991, in Roxbury, Massachusetts, coming from the Capitanes de Ciudad de Mexico of the NBA-owned G-League. “As the crucial part of the season approaches, we decided to focus on a highly motivated player with the right skills to help us immediately and then throughout the season,” general manager Christos Stavropoulos said. “I am very excited to play for this organization and to be coached by a great group of coaches and play alongside other great players. I am looking forward to play in front of the Olimpia fans and for the opportunity to celebrate wins with all of them,” Shabazza Napier said.

HIS CAREER – Shabazz Napier, of Puerto Rican origins from his mother’s side, grew up in Boston. He attended the Charlestown High School and moved for last two years of high school to the Lawrence Academy in Groton where he won the 2010 New England championship after finishing the season undefeated, 29-0. Napier was named MVP of the competition. In 2010, he transferred to the University of Connecticut where in his freshman year he averaged 7.8 points per game, was included in the Big East’s All-Rookie team and helped capture both the conference title and the NCAA championship. During his sophomore year, he averaged 13.8 points and 5.8 assists per game. In his third year with the Huskies, he averaged 17.6 points per game with 4.6 assists and 2.0 steals. In his fourth year, he was named AAC Player of the Year, won the “Bob Cousy” award for being the college basketball’s best point guard, and led Connecticut to his second NCAA championship, this time as the Final Four MVP winner. At the end of the year, he had 18.0 points per game, 4.9 assists and 5.9 rebounds. In 2014, he was selected by Miami in the first round of the NBA draft, number 24. After a season with the Heat, he played one season in Orlando, two in Portland, one in Brooklyn and another one in Minnesota and Washington. In 2021, he signed for Zenit St. Petersburg, but an injury kept him from playing in the EuroLeague. Overall, he played 345 NBA games, with 56 starts, 2,433 points scored and 856 career assists. In 2019/20 he averaged 10.3 points per game with 4.7 assists.

NOTES – Shabazz Napier is first in Connecticut history for games played, 143, second for three-pointers made, 260, and steals, 251, and fourth for points scored, 1,959. He has an NBA career-high of 32 points, twice, once in Portland (against San Antonio) and once in Brooklyn (vs Milwaukee). He also had a triple-double game in Minnesota against Oklahoma City (10 points, 13 assists, 10 rebounds).

Mangok Mathiang and Illawarra Hawks agree to mutual release

Mangok Mathiang is leaving the Illawarra Hawks ‘to pursue a new opportunity in international basketball,’ according to the release issued by the Australian team to announce the big man’s departure.

Mathiang was producing 7.9 points, 4.9 rebounds and one block in 18 minutes per game in the NBL23.

Milano in advanced talks with Shabazz Napier

LBA and Euroleague side Olimpia Milano is in advanced talks with Shabazz Napier, as reported by Giuseppe Malaguti and confirmed by various sources to Sportando. Few “substantial” details are left before an agreement between the sides.

Napier, who turned down a proposal from Panathinaikos in recent hours, is averaging 17.3 ppg and 4.5 apg in 19 G-League games for Mexico City Capitanes.

Mario Chalmers joins Zamboanga Valientes

Mario Chalmers is a new player of the Zamboanga Valientes, as announced by the Philippine team.

The point guard is going to compete in the 2023 ASEAN Basketball League Invitationals, scheduled for Feb. 3-8.

Chalmers last year played 31 games in G League with the Sioux Falls Skyforce (11.2 points, 5.7 assists).

Pierria Henry reportedly expected to part ways with Baskonia

According to AS.com, Baskonia is working on the point guard market to find the player who will replace Pierria Henry in coach Penarroya’s rotation.

The team is expected to announce in the coming days the departure of the 30-year-old playmaker, who has not played the last few games officially due to injury.

Henry averaged 8.9 points, 6.3 assists and 1.4 steals in 23 games between ACB and Euroleague.

According to Ouest France , Adrien Moerman has reached an agreement with Zenit St. Petersburg.

Per L’Equipe, ASVEL also tried to sign the player but failed to reach an agreement.

The power foward will play with French point guard Thomas Heurtel, who joined Zenit after Eurobasket.

Moerman ended his brief stint with AS Monaco averaging 4.3 points and 3.3 rebounds per game between BetClic Elite and Euroleague.

Eugene Campbell III get’s back in Portugal to play for CBA

Eugene Campbell III (190-G-1996, college: NJCU) is getting back to Portugal to play with C B Albufeira in 1 Divisao. Eugene played in the same division last season for MBA Montijo Basket, he got a very good mid season and trough it got the possibility to play for KK Vogosca in Bosnia and for USA EL Ansar in Tunisia’s Top league, but now it’s time to come back to the South of Europe to keep his road to success. Albufeira will welcome is arrival and at the same time they will be waiving Austen Lee who helped them but that they decided to replace by Campbell.
