“Plain and simple. They breached our agreement. My contract states that if they don’t pay me my due salary within 20 days of my original pay date, I’m free to leave the the team and they’ll have to pay me my full salary upon leaving. Not only did those 20 days past but I gave them an extra few days because when they finally did pay me a portion of my salary the week before, they promised me that I’d have the rest in 8 days. By the time the 8th day had come, I had already asked once about the money that was owed to me and I never received a response back. We had a scrimmage game that day and no one approached me about anything from management. It’s like they thought I was going to magically forget what they said. It got to a point where they were lying so much that they couldn’t even keep up with the lies. They were telling agents and players conflicting information and there was never any clarity. So I finally came to the decision to have my agent send in the termination letter and I would call my coach and tell him personally that I’m leaving the team. Which I did. We had a good convo for about 30 mins discussing things and he totally understood my place and where I stood. And said I should what’s best for me and my family. By this time the management knows I have sent my termination letter in and want to speak to me personally. They’re calling and texting me constantly trying to get me to talk to them. I personally didn’t want to. Hearing them talk and tell half truths at most just doesn’t sound too tolerable at the moment. So they know I’m not going to talk to them. They know I’m free to leave and there’s nothing they can do about it cause they breached the contract. It was over for them. So then they contacted me and my agent and informed us that I can come into the office, pick up the rest of the first months salary and I am free to leave the team after that. So I said okay. I went to the office to meet with them. When I got there, not only was there no money in sight, but they tried to convince to say yes on this verbal agreement of new payment dates for my contract cause they originally tried to sell me 8 days prior that they also had made a mistake with the payment dates on my contract(which is absolutely bs and not true). And when I wouldn’t accept their terms right there in front of them, they said told me it would lead to problems. Idk what problems they were speaking of but they already had told my agent that they weren’t goin to release me and give me my LOC even though they had no choice so idk what else they could do. THEY broke the the contract. That’s when I let them know that I would like the rest of my first salary before anything else is discussed. Mind you, it’s also a week from the next pay day in my contract. So in all fairness, they were about to be almost 2 salaries behind. They wouldn’t give me my money. And this is when they continued to attempt to blackmail me into staying. Telling me that they will give me my money that’s owed right now if take back the termination letter and accept the new terms they presented to me. I never agreed to the terms and was actually disappointed that they had even used money that I’m owed to trick me into coming into the office and hearing what they have to say in person. After they finally saw I wouldn’t accept the terms, there were no more words to be said and I left. Of course the GM was texting me telling me he doesn’t understand why I wanted to leave and they did nothing wrong and everything is fine. These people really don’t understand the severity behind their actions or lack their of. This is our livelihood that they are not taking in consideration. We sign law abiding contracts that must be upheld to the letter or else there will be consequences and repercussions. Simple as that. Of course there’s more that they’ve done and not only to me but the rest of the team. I could go into details about all the lies and corruption that I dealt with while being there. But it’s not the place for that. I just want to share my side of what really happened. In my 14 seasons I’ve never been accused of being anything b ur professional and someone who takes the game extremely serious. And I will continue to do so. I wish I could say the same for this organization that has chosen to slander my name because I took action for myself and my family. Truly outrageous and people need to know id never do anything of this nature and these accusations are 1000% FALSE!!!”
