Gianmarco Pozzecco stays as head coach of Dinamo Sassari

Gianmarco Pozzecco will remain as head coach of Dinamo Sassari.

The two sides were close to parting ways on Sunday but during the night they decided to continue together.

Pozzecco has a contract with Sassari till 2022.

Gianmarco Pozzecco will remain as head coach of Dinamo Sassari, president Stefano Sardara said.

“I considered the idea of leaving Dinamo Sassari” Pozzecco added.

Virtus Bologna agreed to terms with Awudu Abass

Awudu Abass will play with Virtus Bologna the next three seasons.
The two sides have reached a multi-year agreement and the official announcement is expected soon, a source told Sportando.

Abass is joining Virtus Bologna after two seasons with Germani Brescia that followed his two years with Olimpia Milano.

The Italian International averaged more than 14 points per game in Serie A this season.

Unicaja Malaga forward Carlos Suarez has signed a contract extension for the next two years with an option for the 2022-23 season.

Suarez has been playing for Unicaja since the 2013-14 season. That means if the 3rd-year option in his new contract is picked up, he will reach a big milestone by playing for the same team for 10 seasons.

Obradovic will meet with Fenerbahce to closing the current season.
There has not been any discussion between the coach and Fenerbahce about his future and his salary.
Obradovic will fly on a regular flight from Belgrade despite Fenerbahce offered him a private jet, a source told Sportando.

Luis Scola’s agent Claudio Villanueva talked about the future of the Argentinian legend to eldiariocba.com.

“He’s still practising, he loves to do it because he knows that it’s the standard to continue his career. He has offers, but he has to decide yet whether to continue or to retire. Dwayne Evans is leaving Dinamo Sassari after a season and he is in advanced negotiations with Ryukyu Golden Kings Okinawa, a source told Sportando.

Evans has spent one season with Sassari averaging 14.1 points and 7.1 rebounds in Serie A while in Basketball Champions League he was averaging 15.3 points with 5 rebounds before suspension due to Covid-19.
Evans has played in Germany most of his pro career before moving to Sardinia last summer.

Gazzetta: Dinamo Sassari, Gianmarco Pozzecco expected to part ways

Italian powerhouse Banco di Sardegna Sassari and coach Gianmarco Pozzecco are expected to part ways, a source confirmed to Sportando after the news was first broke by Gazzetta dello Sport.

Pozzecco leaves Sassari after leading the team to 2018-19 FIBA Europe Cup and a LBA final, and 2019-20 Italian Supercup, despite a contract until 2022. Transfer market strategies are believed to be the main reasons that have caused the abrupt ending of the relationship, after the probable departure of forward Dwayne Evans and the uncompleted arrival of guard Vasa Pusica, announced by Pozzecco in an interview.
