I’m not really surprised. I had already said that it would be him and that we were preparing him for that. I trust my instincts and I think TJ is ready. We talked about it a lot in I talked about the club with the team leaders, be it Charles Kahudi and Antoine Diot. I feel very comfortable with this decision. The budget will decrease for sure. It’s impossible to have a 30 million budget in the next season. If Zeljko accepts that, he can stay. I always said if he wants to stay here, he can always stay. Zeljko said to me that this season’s roster was the best I’ve built in Fenerbahce. But, results were not good”.

Virtus Bologna owner: If there is a free spot in EuroLeague, we will be added to the league

Virtus Bologna owner Massimo Zanetti said some important things during today’s press conference.

“Unfortunately a lot of basketball teams in Italy have some financial difficulties and they could not believe they could send all the players out without paying them” Zanetti said about the cancelation of the Serie A season. “The majority wins and we had to accept it. The club with the most money wanted to cancel the season because they had a really bad season” Zanetti added. “If we say that we like a player, the day after Olimpia Milano comes and over pays him. Even because all this players, youngsters too, will never play also considering the star they have signed. Milano has such a big budget they think that buying players is enough (to win). But Djordjevic taught us that this is not reality. They have spent a lot of money but we beat them” Zanetti continued.

About EuroLeague? “We have contacts with EuroLeague top managers and we have done everything possible. If there will be a free spot, Virtus Bologna will be added to EuroLeague season”.
