Jasikevicius is in deep talks with Fenerbahce but Barcelona’s loss may change his next destination

Sarunas Jasikevicius is the object of desire of Fenerbahce who wants him as Zeljko Obradovic’s replacement. The two sides have been in talks for days and are close to a multi-year deal but today’s defeat of Barcelona against Baskonia in ACB finals could turn up tables.

Jasikevicius in fact, before making a decision on his future, which also contemplates his stay at Zalgiris where he has a rich contract for a further year, wanted to wait for the outcome of the ACB final.

With the KO of the Catalans, the future of Svetislav Pesic on the Barça bench is marked, and given the investments made last summer and those that will be made in the future (multi-year agreement in hands with Nick Calathes), the Blaugrana management has no intention of waiting next year when Zeljko Obradovic returns from the sabbatical year to try to win again.

And for this reason in the next few hours Barcelona could enter the negotiation in a strong way by trying to convince Jasikevicius to return to Catalonia where he won, as a player, a EuroLeague, with Pesic as coach and with Bodiroga as teammate.

These will certainly be days, perhaps hours, decisive for understanding the future of the most coveted coach in Europe at the moment.
