The Turkish International has played with Sigortam.net last season.

Akyol talked to Basketfaul about his career.

“If I had the chance to go back, I would not go back to Efes and stay in Avellino. I had very good times both in club teams and in the national team in Turkey. However, when I enjoyed basketball the most, it was during Avellino times. They valued me so well that after my hand was broken and after 4 weeks away from the court, they showed their confidence in the first game and started me in the starting five. Avellino was a middle-ranked team in Italy, Efes is one of the best in Europe, but as an individual, I was very happy with my role in Avellino. Cesare Pancotto, my coach in Avellino, also has a different place for me. I saw his huge help in my best season.”
