Cedevita Olimpija have reinforced their ranks at the small forward position with the young gun Luka Ščuka, that will remain in Ljubljana for the next four seasons.
Youngster Luka Ščuka, who turned 18 on 23 May, spent his entire career by now at Nova Gorica, where he used to play for all youth categories of the Nova Gorica squad. Now, Ščuka will get the opportunity to present himself at the big scene as well. This week Luka has already joined the senior squad under the helm of Jurica Golemac.
Ščuka, talented 208 cm tall player, has spent the last two seasons in the jersey of Gorica and has been averaging 15.8 points per game in 15 games played in the third division of the Slovenian club competitions. In the Slovenian National Cup he has appeared in six games with an average of 12 points per game. He has been playing at the forward position in the senior basketball competition by now.
In 2018, Ščuka has played for Slovenia U16 National Team in Novi Sad and has recorded an average of 3.9 points and 2.9 rebounds per clash. In 2019 he also played at the U18 European Championship.
As he agreed on cooperation with the Ljubljana side, Ščuka did not try to hide his delight: “I am extremely happy to have become a part of the Ljubljana club. I am looking forward to playing at the highest level. I cannot wait to present myself to the Ljubljana fans.”
