Eisbaren-Bremerhaven announced the arrival of Trey Davis.

Justin Dentmon, DeVaughn Akoon-Purcell to become free agents after next BCL qualifier game

Justin Dentmon and DeVaughn Akoon-Purcell will become free agents after tonight’s Basketball Champions League qualifier game between the Bakken Bears and Belfius Mons-Hainaut (7.00 PM CEST).

Dentmon and Akoon-Purcell both signed short-term contracts to help the Bears qualify for the Basketball Champions League regular season.

British guard Cameron Hildreth commits to Wake Forest

2002-born British guard Cameron Hildreth has committed to Wake Forest, he told ESPN’s Jonathan Givony.

Hildreth had a breakout showing at the Adidas Next Generation Tournament in Kaunas in February as he averaged 25.8 points, 6.8 rebounds, 4.3 assists and 4 steals in four games for Barking Abbey London.

Luka Scuka joins Cedevita Olimpija

Cedevita Olimpija have reinforced their ranks at the small forward position with the young gun Luka Ščuka, that will remain in Ljubljana for the next four seasons.
Youngster Luka Ščuka, who turned 18 on 23 May, spent his entire career by now at Nova Gorica, where he used to play for all youth categories of the Nova Gorica squad. Now, Ščuka will get the opportunity to present himself at the big scene as well. This week Luka has already joined the senior squad under the helm of Jurica Golemac.

Ščuka, talented 208 cm tall player, has spent the last two seasons in the jersey of Gorica and has been averaging 15.8 points per game in 15 games played in the third division of the Slovenian club competitions. In the Slovenian National Cup he has appeared in six games with an average of 12 points per game. He has been playing at the forward position in the senior basketball competition by now.

In 2018, Ščuka has played for Slovenia U16 National Team in Novi Sad and has recorded an average of 3.9 points and 2.9 rebounds per clash. In 2019 he also played at the U18 European Championship.

As he agreed on cooperation with the Ljubljana side, Ščuka did not try to hide his delight: “I am extremely happy to have become a part of the Ljubljana club. I am looking forward to playing at the highest level. I cannot wait to present myself to the Ljubljana fans.”

The big man out of Gonzaga played the previous seven seasons with Brose Bamberg.

Last year he averaged 9.8 points on 56.6% shooting and grabbed 3.2 rebounds.

Joseph will replace the injured Wesley Gordon.

Gani Lawal, Maccabi Ramat Gan part ways

Due to the rise in COVID cases in Israel which resulted in the government to call for an extended three weeks lockdown through mid-October, cancel all D1 and D2 preparation games, and delay the start of the 2020-2021 National League season, Maccabi Ramat Gan honored the request of center Gani Lawal to break the contract. The former Euroleague center played one preseason game and recorded 16 points, 11 rebounds and 2 blocks. He is now a free agent.

Keifer Sykes turns down offer from KK Crvena Zvezda

KK Crvena Zvezda offered Keifer Sykes a contract for the season but the guard turned it down, a source told Sportando.
Sykes was Red Star’s main target to strengthen the backcourt for the EuroLeague and ABA Liga campaigns.
The American, who has played in China and Olimpia Milano in 2019-2020, will be playing Basketball Champions League Final Eight with Turk Telekom Ankara and then he will be free agent again.
