The stage is set for British born basketball big man Prince Ibeh as the latest signing to be unveiled for the Plymouth Raiders.
6’ 11” Centre Ibeh who starred for the Texas Longhorns, secured the “Big 12” Defensive Player of the Year award in 2016. Upon graduation he signed for the Long Island Nets, NBA Brooklyn Nets’ G League side from 2016-2018 averaging 16 points per game in his final season.
Most recently featuring during the 19/20 campaign for German premier league Bundesliga side Hamburg Towers, Ibeh has a reputation as a dominant centre, scorer and shot blocker and is sure to make a significant impact for Raiders’ high ambitions this coming season.
26 year old Prince is ready to rock the BBL for the Plymouth fans tuning in from home for the televised games, and he had this to say;
“I would like to thank coach Paul James and the Plymouth Raiders owners for this opportunity. I’m looking forward to helping the team in anyway I can on and off the court”
Coach Paul James added;
“We are delighted with the signing of Prince Ibeh. His size and agility in and around the basket at both ends of the court is going to be crucial to our make up and success this season. There have been a few decent interior players in the league of late, but we feel Prince in another level of player with an even higher ceiling. We happily welcome him into our Raiders family and we are very much looking forward to him joining up with the rest of the squad.”
Raiders Director Ross Mackenzie;
“It’s been a few years since Raiders last had a dominant big man with Prince’s physicality. Think Terrence Durham, Carlton Aaron or most recently 6’ 10” Paul Williams in 2011/12, this appointment is really exciting for the fans”.
