Lefteris Mantzoukas joins Panathinaikos on five-year deal

Panathinaikos OPAP announces the five-year agreement with Lefteris Mantzoukas.

Lefteris Mantzoukas was born in July 8, 2003, he is a 2.07 m (6’9 ​1⁄2″) tall small forward-power forward.

On 14 February 2017, at the age of 14, Mantzoukas began his pro career with Promitheas Patras, in the Greek Basket League, during the 2017–18 season. He made his Greek League debut in a game versus Panionios, in which he scored 2 points, in 1 minute of playing time. Mantzoukas became the second youngest player to ever debut in the top-tier level Greek League, since it became fully professional in 1992. Georgios Papagiannis is the only other player to have previously debuted in the same competition, at a younger age.

Mantzoukas has been a member of the junior national teams of Greece. He played at the 2018 FIBA Under-16 European Championship, where he averaged 9.3 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 1.4 assists per game. He also played at the 2019 FIBA Under-16 European Championship, where he averaged 15.0 points, 9.1 rebounds, and 2.7 assists per game.

Panathinaikos expected to sign Greek rising star Lefteris Mantzoukas

Panathinaikos is expected to strike a big signing for the team’s mid-term future, as the Greek powerhouse will sign 2003-born forward Lefteris Mantzoukas, as reported by George Zakkas of SDNA.

This year Mantzoukas has scored one of the most impressive Eurocup games of the season, tallying 24 points (with 6/6 from 3-point) in Promitheas’ loss to Gran Canaria. He has averaged 6.1 ppg in 7 Eurocup games.

Abdul Gaddy signing with Bnei Herzliya

Former Washington guard Abdul Gaddy is parting ways with Greek club Peristeri and signing a deal with Bnei Herzliya in Israel, sources told Sportando.

Gaddy averaged 7.7 points, 2.7 rebounds and 4.7 assists over six games in the Greek A1 and Basketball Champions League with Peristeri. He has also played in Italy, Latvia, Germany and the NBA G League during his career.

Fenerbahce and two other European clubs reportedly in the mix to sign Marko Guduric

According to Nikos Varlas of Eurohoops, Fenerbahce is considered “strong” in the mix of clubs interested into signing Serbian guard Marko Guduric, who has just been waived by the Memphis Grizzlies. There are two unnamed European clubs chasing Guduric, according to Varlas.

Before considering European offers, Guduric will see if any NBA team will pick up his $2.7M contract for next season in the next 48 hours. Guduric averaged 3.9 points in 44 NBA games for Memphis last season.
