Former Providence guard Maliek White has signed a contract with Egis Kormend in Hungary, sources told Sportando.

White is coming off a productive rookie season in Georgia where he averaged 16.2 points, a league-leading seven assists and 5.4 rebounds per game, helping Rustavi win the national championship.

ERA Basketball Nymburk lands Demetre Rivers

>The second foreign reinforcement for ERA Basketball Nymburk is American Demetre Rivers. Small forward or power forward measuring 203 centimeters comes from Kaposvár KK, where he was one of the biggest stars of the Hungarian league. The 25-year-old native of South Carolina also worked in Estonia and in G League. He signed an annual contract with Nymburk.

“We are very happy that we managed to bring Demetre to Nymburk. I want to thank my partner Nun Pedros from Flex Basketball Management for their great cooperation and also the management of ERA Basketball Nymburk for quick negotiations,” said agent Jan Hubálek, who helped make the transfer. “Demetre had a great season in Hungary last year, which brought him a lot of offers and interest from all over Europe (Romania, Greece, Germany, France and others). Demetre was very appealing to Nymburk’s style of play and is convinced that it will fit perfectly into the game system. He will help to further success in BCL and become one of the team leaders, “he added.

Rivers is a graduate of Mercer University. In 2018, he went to the G League, where he wore the Maine Red Claws jersey, but soon left for Europe, where he was hired by the Estonian team Pärnu, with whom he won third place in the Estonian league. He contributed to this by an average of 15.7 points and 4 rebounds per match. He even had averages of 17.2 points and 5.5 rebounds in the Estonian-Latvian league. He was included in the best line-up of the Estonian league.

In 2019 he moved to Hungary, where he first put on a Sopron jersey. He collected 13.6 points, 5 rebounds and 1.4 assists per match in her colors. He then moved to Kaposvár, where he was the busiest player in the Hungarian league. He played 36 minutes per game with averages of 17.7 points, 5.1 rebounds and 1.1 assists with a shooting success rate of 62 percent and 40 percent for three points.

Malcolm Bernard signs with BC Novosibirsk

Former Xavier guard/forward Malcolm Bernard has signed a deal with BC Novosibirsk in the Russian Superleague, agent Benjamin Stevic of BDR Sports told Sportando.

Bernard spent last season in Slovenia and Belgium. He first averaged over 17 points, five rebounds and five assists per game for Rogaska and then moved to the Leuven Bears for the remainder of the 2020-21 campaign.

Haywood Highsmith is in advanced talks on a potential deal with Vanoli Cremona of the Italian Serie A, sources told Sportando.

The 24-year-old forward spent the 2020-21 season in Germany with Crailsheim, where he played for Cremona’s newly-signed big man Jamuni McNeace. Highsmith averaged 7.9 points, 4.4 rebounds, 1.4 assists and 1.4 steals per game in the German BBL.

Highsmith played five games in the NBA with the Philadelphia 76ers in 2018-19.

According to Donatas Urbonas, Zalgiris Kaunas is nearing an agreement with Emmanuel Mudiay.

The point guard, who was the No.7 pick of the 2015 NBA Draft, played the 2019/20 season with the Utah Jazz, when Martin Schiller was on the bench of the Salt Lake City Stars.

In 5 NBA seasons Mudiay has recorded career averages of 11 points and 3.8 assists.
