Jamaal Franklin signs deal with Shanghai Sharks

Former NBA guard Jamaal Franklin has signed a multi-million dollar deal with the Shanghai Sharks, sources told Sportando.

Shanghai acquired his rights from his former team Shanxi in a trade earlier today, sources said.

Franklin’s return to China was made possible as the CBA is now allowing teams to sign foreign players for the 2021-22 season, which is going to be held in a bubble.

Gustavo Ayon reportedly signing with Capitanes de Arecibo

Gustavo Ayon has reached an agreement with Capitanes de Arecibo, Rodrigo Rovar reports.

The veteran big man last year averaged over 17 points (66% FG, 77% FT), 9 rebounds and 5 assist per game in the mexican league with Astros de Jalisco.

MBC signs Jamel Morris

MBC has announced the arrival of Jamel Morris.

The guard had signed with Bamberg in the summer, but the German team decided to replace him with a pointguard during the preseason.

Morris played last season between Orleans and Legia Warsaw.
In Poland he averaged 17.4ppg.

MHP Riesen Ludwigsburg announces Yoeli Childs

Yoeli Childs signed a one-year contract with MHP Riesen Ludwigsburg, the German team announced.

The former BYU big man spent his rookie season in G League with Erie BayHawks, averaging 8.9 points and 4.8 rebounds in 12 games.

Childs played the 2021 Las Vegas Summer League with the Los Angeles Lakers (7 ppg, 6.2 rpg).

CSKA Moscow, Mike James part ways

CSKA Moscow and Mike James officially parted ways.

The Russian powerhouse announced that the parties have reached an agreement to terminate the contract of the former Olimpia Milano point guard.

Last season James averaged 19.3 points and 5.7 assists in 27 Euroleague games. The pointguard ended the season with the Brooklyn Nets, scoring 7.7 points with 4.1 assist in regular season, and  3.7 points with 1.3 assist in the Playoffs.

MoraBanc Andorra inks Victor Arteaga

MoraBanc Andorra announced the arrival of Victor Arteaga.

The big man, 8.3 points and 4.9 rebounds per game with Estudiantes last year, will help the Spanish team to overcome Moussa Diagne’s injury.

Arteaga has signed a two-month contract.

Ware has played the last 6 seasons in the NBL.

Brown last year with KK Cedevita Olimpija averaged 10.3ppg in ABA Liga and 8.2ppg in EuroCup.

Lemar and Willis ended last season in Italy, the guard scored 12.2 ppg with Reggio Emilia, while the forward had over 10 points and 5 rebounds per game for Germani Brescia.

Zhou Qi signs two-year deal with South East Melbourne Phoenix

Zhou Qi, the Chinese big man selected by the Rockets in the second round of the 2016 Draft, is a new player of South East Melbourne Phoenix.

The 2.17 center signed a two-year contract, with a player option in the second year of the deal.

Last year  Zhou Qi produced over 20 points, 11 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 blocks per game in CBA.

Phoenix CEO Tommy Greer: “Zhou is an absolute superstar in China and to have him in the NBL is enormous. Zhou joining the NBL will literally add millions and millions of eyeballs to our team and the league”.

Kaiser Gates joins Hapoel Jerusalem

Kaiser Gates is a new player of Hapoel Jerusalem, the Israeli team announced.

The power forward out of Xavier played the Las Vegas Summer League with the Brooklyn Nets, averaging 6.7 points and 5 rebounds in 4 games.

Last year Gates played 12 games (9 ppg, 5.7 rpg) with the Long Island Nets.

Olimpia Milano extends Shavon Shields

Olimpia Milano and Shavon Shields reached an agreement to extend the player’s contract until 2023.“I’m happy and thankful for the opportunity to continue with Olimpia Milan for two more years. Insieme!”, Shavon Shields said. “We knew that Shavon Shields was the right player and person for our team, and one year later we can say that the facts matched our expectations, so we are glad to be able to announce, before the original contract expiration date, that Shavon will continue to be part of our team,” Olimpia’s general manager Christos Stavropoulos said.

In his first season in Milan, Shavon Shields helped Olimpia win the Supercup by averaging 10.3 points per game, he then helped the team win the Italian Cup too. In the Munich EuroLeague game, he made the winning three-pointer with nine seconds left in overtime. He set his new career-high of 34 points when Olimpia defeated Bayern in Game 5 of the EuroLeague playoffs. He also had 41 of index rating, another personal best, like the 11 free throws made in that game. He was eventually named the EuroLeague MVP of the week. He finished the season averaging 13.8 points per game, 4.0 rebounds and shot 43.2 percent from three. He was also named to the All-EuroLeague second team. In the Italian league, ha set his personal best of points (35), three-pointers (seven) and rating (37).

Brisbane secure Chinese International Chuanxing Liu

The Brisbane Bullets are pleased to announce they have secured Chinese International, Chuanxing Liu – or “Big Liu” as he likes to be known – for the NBL22 season.

Standing at a commanding 7’5, Liu will be the tallest player in league history. His offensive efficiency and ability to be a defensive deterrent in the paint will bring an extra dimension to the Bullets roster.

Liu has signed under the NBL’s Special Restricted Player provision allowing the Club, and the league, to continue to build on strong relationships within the FIBA Asian region.

Liu is a member of the Chinese national team, having played in this year’s Olympic Qualifying Tournament and Asia Cup Qualifying Tournament.

The 24-year-old most recently played in the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) for the Qingdao Eagles, where he averaged 9.7ppg, 8.3rpg and 1.1 bpg, shooting 66% from the field during the season. As the Eagles starting Centre, his output increased to 17.5ppg and 13rpg and 2.5 bpg during the playoffs. He was also selected to play in the 2021 CBA All-Star Game.
