The Brisbane Bullets are pleased to announce they have secured Chinese International, Chuanxing Liu – or “Big Liu” as he likes to be known – for the NBL22 season.
Standing at a commanding 7’5, Liu will be the tallest player in league history. His offensive efficiency and ability to be a defensive deterrent in the paint will bring an extra dimension to the Bullets roster.
Liu has signed under the NBL’s Special Restricted Player provision allowing the Club, and the league, to continue to build on strong relationships within the FIBA Asian region.
Liu is a member of the Chinese national team, having played in this year’s Olympic Qualifying Tournament and Asia Cup Qualifying Tournament.
The 24-year-old most recently played in the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) for the Qingdao Eagles, where he averaged 9.7ppg, 8.3rpg and 1.1 bpg, shooting 66% from the field during the season. As the Eagles starting Centre, his output increased to 17.5ppg and 13rpg and 2.5 bpg during the playoffs. He was also selected to play in the 2021 CBA All-Star Game.
