Rockets keep flexibility of $12 million in cap space

Houston can add a player who helps now, take on a player for assets and use those to further upgrade the team.

The Houston Rockets traded Clint Capela and Nene Hilario and got Robert Covington, Jordan Bell and a second rounder of the 2024 NBA draft from the Hawks (via Warriors).

Per ESPN, For the Rockets, they keep the flexibility of $12 million in cap space that allows them to expand this trade between now and Thursday’s 3 p.m. ET NBA trade deadline. Houston can add a player who helps now, take on a player for assets and use those to further upgrade the team.
