After taking a break from the franchise to deal with mental health issues, Ricky Rubio and the Cleveland Cavaliers have agreed to a contract buyout. The source is ESPN.
This will credibly mark after 12 years the NBA career of the Spanish point guard, who in the event of a return to the court could start again in the ACB.
The buyout – which provides $6.1 million for this year’s contract and $6.4 million for 2024-2025 – gives the Cavaliers some financial relief and opens up a second roster spot for the team.
In his career, Rubio has averaged 10.8 points and 7.4 assists and has built a reputation as a favourite teammate of several stars, including Kevin Love and Donovan Mitchell.
