The Houston Rockets are hiring Rick Higgins and Jeff Hornacek as an assistant coach, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski. Mark Berman of Fox 26 first reported that Hornacek was on the verge of signing with the Rockets.
Higgins, son of ex-NBA player and GM Rod Higgins, had been working for the Orlando Magic as a player development coach. Hornacek, whose No. 14 is retired by the Utah Jazz, last coached in the NBA in 2017-18 for the Knicks.
