Umana Reyer is pleased to announce the signing of a multi-year agreement with Davide Moretti, coming from Pallacanestro Varese.
Born in Bologna on March 25, 1998, Moretti is a 6’9″, 81-pound point-guard. Last season he was the 11th best 3-point shooter in the league with 42% from the arc.
Davide began his basketball training in Pistoia Basket’s youth academy, making his very young debut in Serie A on 26 October 2014. In the 2015/17 seasons, he played two important championships in A2 with Treviso Basket. On 10 June 2017, he moves to play and study in the United States, in the NCAA, where he defends the colours of Texas Tech University, becoming a fundamental element of the Red Raiders and contributing decisively to a historic March Madness final, lost only in overtime against Virginia despite his 15 points.
In May 2020 he returned to Italy, signing a deal with Milan: in an Olimpia jersey he played one season, also making his debut in the Euroleague, winning an Italian Supercup and a Coppa Italia. In 2021§/23 he defends the colours of VL Pesaro, putting up 10.2 points, with 36.5% from 3, and almost 3 assists in 23.3 minutes of average time. Last season, he played a leading role with Varese Basketball, with whom he recorded 12.1 points, 3 assists and 3 rebounds per game, with 89.2% from the line, 42% from 3-point range and 12.4 average rating.
Moretti has also worn the national team jersey in his career: in 2016, in Turkey, he won the bronze medal at the Under-18 European Championships, while on 30 November 2020, in Tallinn, he made his debut with coach Sacchetti’s senior selection in the Eurobasket 2022 Qualifiers match won over Russia 70-66.

I’m thrilled and happy to be part of this team and grateful to Reyer for having strongly wanted me, it’s something that makes me proud. It’s a great opportunity for me: Reyer is an ambitious club that aims at important goals and I’ll make myself completely available to teammates and staff to give my contribution to the team.
Reyer has always given me the feeling of being a solid team with a high-level corporate foundation and organisation.
I’ve already been told about the ‘Reyer spirit’ and I can relate to it perfectly because it’s with this mentality that you can achieve something special. I carry with me my college experience at Texas Tech: after an incredible season we made it all the way to the NCAA final as absolute underdogs. I grew up with the mentality that hard work, character, and team spirit can take you to great heights.
I will give everything for this jersey and look forward to getting to know everyone. See you soon!
