On the final day of the EuroLeague regular season, Real Madrid pulled off an incredible 91-89 win on the road against Partizan Belgrade, sealed by a buzzer-beating hook shot from Edy Tavares, assisted by Facundo Campazzo. It was an epic finish that gave the Blancos their sixth consecutive victory and kept their hopes of direct playoff qualification alive, pending the results of Anadolu Efes and FC Barcelona.
The game was a true battle, with Željko Obradović’s team dominating much of the second half. However, Real turned the tide in the last two minutes. Mario Hezonja knocked down two crucial three-pointers in the clutch, while Sergio Llull and Campazzo flipped the score in the final seconds. After Carlik Jones tied the game at 89-89, Chus Mateo drew up a brilliant sideline play that ended with Tavares spinning and scoring the game-winner at the buzzer.
With this win, Real Madrid is guaranteed to finish no lower than seventh. But to secure a direct playoff berth, they now need Anadolu Efes to lose to Zalgiris. If not, the Blancos will face Bayern Munich in the Play-In.
