Gianmarco Pozzecco was interviewed by Sky Sport the day after Italy’s win over Serbia at Eurobasket eightfinals and said he is hopeful to see a more balanced officiating vs. France.
“What happened yesterday against Serbia will help you in staying on the bench with a different behavior or is it impossible?” Asked the reporter.
“Hopefully yes” Pozzecco replied. “But not because I need a change but because I would like to see a more balanced refereeing” the coach added.
“The referees are good, in my opinion they have made some mistakes. Mistakes I can make and that the players on the court can make” Pozzecco continued. “I hope to see a more balanced arbitrage in the game against France but I am sure it will be like that” Pozzecco said.
“We have to options…the first one is that Marco Spissu will give me back my credit card (in the video you can watch here Spissu pass by and gives back to Pozzecco the credit card)…ehi but the Smart you bought?” Joked Poz.
“We can think and we cannot think: to think means that we face France, then maybe Slovenia and in the final Greece. So it is better not to think. Gobert, Doncic, Antetokounmpo…after having played against Jokic….”
“The second option is not to think. Let the guys live with enthusiasm and step on the court thinking that they are living their dream. The is not rationality. So we don’t have to be rational”.
