San Antonio Spurs coach Gregg Popovich explained that his priority now is the development of the young talents on the roster.
“If we play well enough to get into the playoffs, that would be great, but my goal is development right now. For us in our specific situation, development is more important than anything. I’m not too concerned with trying to figure out how to match up with the Lakers or Clippers or Celtics or Raptors or Rockets or Nuggets or anybody else.”
Before the suspension the Spurs were were twelfths in the Western Conference standings with 27 wins over 36 games.
The Spurs are tied for the longest playoff streak in NBA history with 22 consecutive trips to the postseason.
