Philadelphia wants Joel Embiid healthy for the playoffs

The Philadelphia 76ers are clear that they want to treat Joel Embiid as cautiously as possible so that they have him healthy for the playoffs.

Philadelphia 76ers Joel Embiid is completing the ramp-up phase of his return-to-play process. Embiid has reportedly completed multiple 5-on-5 scrimmages with the Sixers in recent days.
Embiid is expected to get periodic time off throughout the season. Philadelphia will also do regular checkups on the former MVP’s knee throughout the season. The 76ers goal is to have Embiid healthy for the start of the playoffs, as opposed to pushing him throughout the regular season.
Recently, the NBA fined the Sixers $100,000 for improper public statements that didn’t reflect Embiid’s injury status. The league said that Philadelphia president of basketball operations Daryl Morey and head coach Nick Nurse were “inconsistent with Joel Embiid’s health status and in violation of NBA rules.”
