According to ESPN, the Philadelphia 76ers and Joel Embiid are consulting medical specialists to determine the best course of action for his left knee injury, including the possibility of surgery.
Despite ongoing treatments and injections, there has been no significant improvement. Embiid has played just 19 of 56 games this season and is questionable for Monday’s game against Chicago.
His stats have dipped to 23.8 points and 8.2 rebounds per game, his lowest since 2019-20. Meanwhile, the 76ers (20-36) are on a seven-game losing streak, struggling despite opening the season with championship aspirations.
