Partizan Mozzart Bet staged one of their best performances of the season, beating Fenerbahçe 90-81 in the Beogradska Arena. Led by an inspired Dwayne Washington, author of 27 points, the Serbs dominated for long stretches, breaking the negative series and relaunching their ambitions in the EuroLeague. Supporting Washington were Carlik Jones with 14 points and five assists and Tyrique Jones, who contributed 13 crucial points.
Fenerbahçe tried to stay in the game thanks to the excellent performance of Nigel Hayes-Davis, 19 points, and Marko Gudurić, who added 14 points. However, the Turkish team was unable to maintain the defensive consistency needed to stop Partizan’s attack.
Isaiah Mike was instrumental in the third quarter in stemming Fenerbahçe’s comeback attempts, finishing with nine points, seven rebounds, and three rebounds. Aleksej Pokuševski, with 8 points and an excellent defensive presence, made the crowd explode with a spectacular triple and a couple of decisive plays. The energy of the Serbian players and the guidance of coach Željko Obradović were instrumental in keeping the intensity high until the end.
With this victory, Partizan broke a losing streak and got back on track for a better position in the EuroLeague standings. Fenerbahçe, on the other hand, will have to work on the management of the crucial moments, after having wasted several opportunities to get closer in the score.
