Partizan Belgrade’s statement on the brawl: “Players suffered racist insults”

Brawl outside a nightclub, Partizan Belgrade does not hold back: this is the official statement.

On the night of Sunday, May 4th to Monday, May 5th, a number of Partizan Belgrade players were involved in a street brawl outside a nightclub. According to reports in the Serbian media, a version of which we reported here, the players were Carlik Jones, Sterling Brown, Isaac Bonga and Frank Ntilikina, but the latter, according to the official statement of the Serbian club, did not take part in the brawl, so it seems that there were “only” three players involved. Below is the official statement of Partizan Belgrade.

Official communiqué from Partizan Belgrade

KK Partizan Mozzart Bet confirms that last night three HCL players were in the center of an incident that took place not far from a well-known Belgrade nightclub.

According to the players, they were racially abused by a group of boys, while the girls in their club were called the most derogatory names, just because there are dark-skinned people in the club.

When everyone thought that the incident was verbally over, the same group of boys waited for the Partizan players in front of the club after they left and physically attacked them. After the attack, they retaliated against the attackers.

As citizens, the Partizan players will go to give their statements after being summoned by the relevant authorities.

All internal matters of KK Partizan Mozart Bet will be resolved in accordance with the club’s statutes.
