Partizan Belgrade: official statement on James Nunnally

Partizan Belgrade issued an official statement following James Nunnally's social statements.

After the words of James Nunnally on his account X, Partizan Belgrade have released an official statement.

“After statements on the social network X by the former player of BC Partizan, James Nunnally, the Club wants to point out the relevant facts regarding the case that no one wanted.

After the end of the 2023-24 season, the coaching staff decided not to offer the player an extension. The decision of the sports sector was to sign captain Vanja Marinkovic and Isaac Bonga in that position. When it comes to the Club’s financial obligations to the player, James Nunnally received all the money due to him immediately after the end of the season. Also, for the results achieved in the previous two seasons, he received the corresponding bonuses on which all taxes were calculated and paid.

The incident that marked the end of James’ involvement in Partizan happened at a very important moment for the Club. It is unnecessary to underline again how much nobody was happy about the incident and the fight in which the then Partizan player participated with the player of the rival team and on that occasion caused him minor injuries.

After that unfortunate event, the coach of Partizan Mozzart Bet Zeljko Obradovic decided that the player would leave the team and not be part of the team in the following games. No one wanted the aforementioned incident, least of all BC Partizan, which once again expresses its regret for that event.

On the other hand, the Club understands the emotions and certain frustrations of its former player on that occasion, but the internal rules of BC Partizan must be respected. Simply put, no one is bigger and more important than the Club itself.

Once again, BC Partizan Mozzart Bet would like to thank James Nunnally for all the good moments he gave to the Club and the fans. Hereby, BC Partizan once again sincerely wishes James Nunnally good luck and success on a professional and personal level.”
