It was a wonderful semifinal between the United States and Serbia, a game that threatened to send the Americans packing. But that was not to be, as the Serbians were able to complete the comeback of Kerr’s team after 37 dreamlike minutes. The final score was 95-91 in favor of the U.S., which trailed by as many as 17 points in the first half and had to play its best basketball on both ends of the floor to beat a Serbia team that played a legendary game for at least 35 minutes.
The United States got 36 points and 8 rebounds from a magnificent Stephen Curry (9/14 from three-point range), 19 points from Joel Embiid and an incredible triple-double from LeBron James with 16 points, 12 rebounds and 10 assists.
Serbia was not satisfied with Bogdanovic’s 20 points, Jokic’s 17 points and 11 assists and Aleksa Avramovic’s 15 points.
