Australia scores an important victory in its debut at the Paris 2024 Olympics against Spain, who did not need a super Aldama.

Australia got off to the best possible start at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games with an important Group A win over Spain. The Boomers were in control throughout the game, jumping out to a double-digit lead in the first quarter with a 31-21 lead, which they held for the rest of the game, winning 92-80. Australia shot an excellent 12-of-24 from three-point range, while Spain made the same number of threes but attempted 37. The Australians also had the edge in rebounding as they won the battle 46-32.

Australia got 20 points with 9 rebounds and 5 assists from Landale, 19 points from Patty Mills and 18 points with 8 rebounds and 8 assists from Josh Giddey.

It wasn’t enough for Spain with 27 points from a wild Santi Aldama, 17 points from Sergio Llull and 14 points from Willy Hernangomez.
