Panathinaikos needed a massive response, and they delivered in style. Trailing 77-69 with just over six minutes left, the Greens unleashed a 21-0 run to defeat Alba Berlin 91-79 and improve to 19-11 in the EuroLeague standings. With the win, Ergin Ataman’s team closes in on second place, currently held by Fenerbahce (20-10).
Jerian Grant led the way with a season-high 19 points, while Kendrick Nunn added 18 and both Wenyen Gabriel and Lorenzo Brown scored 13. Despite shooting just 1/10 from three in the first half and losing Ioannis Papapetrou to an ankle injury, Panathinaikos dominated the closing stretch with elite defense and transition offense.
Next up: Panathinaikos travels to Belgrade to face Maccabi on March 26, while Alba will take on Partizan the day before.
