Panathinaikos beats Maccabi in game five and returns to the Final Four after 12 years

After 12 years, Panathinaikos returned to the Final Four. Ergin Ataman’s team beat Maccabi 81-72 in game five. 26 points for Kendrick Nunn, an absolute protagonist.

Panathinaikos’ comeback came through a Juancho three-pointer at -4 in the third quarter and two rebounds by Kalaitzakis at the beginning of the fourth quarter.

Maccabi couldn’t see the basket anymore, and a triple by Nunn at 7:04 made it 64-56. Lorenzo Brown unblocked his team only 6′ in, also finding two threes, but the answers of Nunn and Lessort, and the great Greek defence, sent the credits rolling. A triple by Nunn is worth the 81-69 that closes the match shortly after the last minute of play.
