Pacers and Pelicans Agree to a Trade Ahead of 2025 NBA Draft

By reacquiring their 2026 pick, the Pacers gain valuable flexibility moving forward

The Indiana Pacers and New Orleans Pelicans have finalized a trade, Shams Charania reports.

Indiana is sending the No. 23 pick in the upcoming 2025 NBA Draft, along with the draft rights to Mojave King, to New Orleans in exchange for the Pacers’ own 2026 first-round pick.

Indiana had previously traded away its 2026 first-rounder to the Toronto Raptors as part of the Pascal Siakam deal. Toronto later flipped that pick to the Pelicans in the trade package for Brandon Ingram.

By reacquiring their 2026 pick, the Pacers gain valuable flexibility moving forward — particularly with regard to a new deal for Myles Turner and other trade opportunities.

For New Orleans, the move adds another late first-round selection to a draft where they already hold the No. 7 overall pick, giving them added ammunition for draft-night decisions or future deals.

This marks the first official move of the Pelicans’ new front office, now led by Joe Dumars.
