Pablo Laso Jokes About Difallah and Panathinaikos: What Do the Stats Say?

Baskonia’s Pablo Laso commented on Mehdi Difallah being the crew chief for the EuroLeague Round 22 game against Panathinaikos AKTOR Athens. “A Greek friend told me, ‘How could he not be refereeing a Panathinaikos game?’ I need to check how many times he has done so,” joked Laso during the pre-game press conference.

Since joining EuroLeague in 2017-2018, Difallah has officiated 25 Panathinaikos games, where the Greek side holds a 13-12 record. Interestingly, over the past two seasons, Panathinaikos boasts an impressive 9-1 record in games officiated by the French referee.

Officiating has been a hot topic lately, especially after Panathinaikos coach Ergin Ataman criticized the referees following their Round 21 loss to Barcelona.
