Orlando Magic ends Cleveland’s 16-game winning streak

Banchero and Wagner lead the Magic past the Cavaliers in a tight battle.

The Orlando Magic ended the Cleveland Cavaliers’ franchise-best 16-game winning streak with a 108-103 victory on Sunday. Paolo Banchero led Orlando with 24 points, while Franz Wagner contributed 22, securing a crucial win against the Eastern Conference leaders.

The Cavs, unbeaten since February 4, struggled in the closing moments, missing key shots, including three from Donovan Mitchell in the final minute. Banchero’s mid-range jumper gave Orlando the lead at 104-103, followed by two clutch free throws from Kentavious Caldwell-Pope to seal the win.

Despite Mitchell’s 23 points and Jarrett Allen’s double-double (20 points, 12 rebounds), Cleveland fell short, failing to extend its winning streak to 17 games—a feat last achieved by Phoenix in 2021. Cavs coach Kenny Atkinson praised Orlando’s defense, ranking among the league’s top three.

Cleveland now turns its attention to an upcoming road trip, hoping to regain momentum.
