Olympiacos has pulled off one of the most important market shots in the summer of 2024, as Sasha Vezenkov has made his return to Europe (and Athens). At the microphones of Eurohoops, the player spoke about his return to Olympiacos and the exponential growth of Panathinaikos during his time in the NBA. These are his statements.
Vezenkov on his return to Olympiacos: “I always consider all possibilities. It gives you joy to return to a place where you are appreciated, where they love you. I prefer to be competitive, to fight for trophies and to feel important. I didn’t know if I would have that opportunity in the NBA. This is what I wanted, Olympiacos is my home”.
On Panathinaikos: “We know where Panathinaikos was two years ago and where they are now. We congratulate them for reaching this goal. We know that there are many strong teams in the EuroLeague, we want the trophy and we will fight for it. Panathinaikos also has a fantastic roster, the bar has been set high”.
