Olimpia Milano has reached an agreement until the end of the season with Trey Kell, 1.94 mt tall, guard, born on April 5, 1996, in San Diego, California, coming from Varese. “Kell is a young player, who has already demonstrated to be able to play at a very good level in the Italian league. His ability to play multiple positions is essential for a team like ours and the schedule we have ahead,” Olimpia’s general manager Christos Stavropoulos said. “First I would like to thank everyone in Varese for everything they did for me while I was there. Secondly, I am very thankful to join a great team like Olimpia Milano and am very excited for the opportunity and to get started immediately.”
HIS CAREER – Kell has played at St. Augustine High School in San Diego where during his senior year averaged 25.6 points per game with 11.0 rebounds and was named the Western League MVP. In 2014, he began playing for San Diego State. In his second season, he started 28 times out of 28 averaging 12.6 points per game and was included to the All-Mountain West Conference first team. As a junior, he averaged 13.2 points per game, and was named to the All-conference third team. During his fourth year, he averaged 10.5 points per game with 4.1 assists and 4.1 rebounds. During the Mountain West title game, he scored 28 points and led the team to the win over New Mexico, taking the MVP award as well. As a professional, he’s played in Bosnia at Igokea, in Canada at Moncton, with the Eastern Long Lions of the Asian league, finally at Stal Ostrow in Poland and in Varese. He won both the Canadian championship in 2019 as MVP and the Polish title in 2021. At Ostrow, he averaged 16.3 points, 5.4 rebounds and 4.8 assists per game in the Polish league; 14.7 points, 4.0 rebounds and 5.1 assists in the FIBA Europe Cup. In Varese, he played 10 games averaging 15.3 points, 4.1 rebounds and 3.1 assists per game and was shooting 40.0 percent from three-point range.
NOTES – Tre Kell played two Asian Cup games with the Syrian national team in 2020, averaging 34.5 points, 7.0 rebounds and 5.0 assists per game. His full name is George Kell III.
