The field for the 2020-21 FIBA Europe Cup Regular Season has grown with the arrival of a further nine teams entering from the Basketball Champions League.
Anwil Wloclawek (POL), BC Balkan (BUL), BC Dnipro (UKR), Fribourg Olympic (SUI), Iraklis BC (GRE) and London Lions (GBR) were all beaten in the First Round of the BCL Qualifiers, while Belfius Mons-Hainaut (BEL), Donar Groningen (NED) and Sporting CP (POR) fell at the Second Round hurdle.
These teams advance directly to the Group Phase of the competition having already been provisionally placed in last month’s draw alongside 16 confirmed participants:
The start of the Regular Season of FIBA Europe Cup has been rescheduled to January 6, 2021.
The field has been split into four groups of four and three groups of three teams with the top two teams of each group and the two best 3rd placed teams advancing to the Round of 16, which will be played in a knock-out, home and away format.
FIBA Europe is evaluating the possibility of organizing games in single venues (hubs/bubbles system) and concrete proposals will be presented to the FIBA Europe Board.
