ON THE FUTURE
“Jokes aside, I don’t know what it will be. It’s not even fair to talk about that now. We won a Scudetto last night after a very long season. It’s right to enjoy the moment, otherwise you really risk letting it all go by too quickly. Never take a Scudetto for granted. There was something I would say, now there’s nothing, there’s nothing to say’.
ON THE FLUID OF LONG LIFE
“The key for me is to train. I am lucky to have a wife and daughter at home who absolutely know what my priority is, so they support me in the right recovery at home. Mentally it’s not easy sometimes, so much so that I’ve had moments this season where I was definitely lacklustre, but I’ve had amazing teammates, friends, family always on my side. As long as everything sticks together, as long as all the pieces are together, I’m going, then I’ll have to stop”.
ON THE RELATIONSHIP WITH MESSINA
“The crisis is in its seventh year… Sometimes our relationship has also been destructive, but in my opinion the thing we both want is the good of this club, this team. He has his ideas, I have my ideas, we all have ideas, sometimes they are the same, sometimes they are different. He makes his ideas very clear, and I’m certainly not one to back down. But everything is aimed for the good of the team, for the common result, because in the end not only I win, not only he wins, but we all win together.
