Nico Mannion: “I want to become an All-Star and win championships”

Potential NBA first-round pick Nico Mannion had an interview with Italian newspaper Tuttosport after declaring for the 2020 NBA Draft. Here’s what he said about his future NBA goals and the Italian national team.

“My dad told me that staying in the NBA for a long time is harder than just making to the league. So my goal isn’t just to play in the NBA, I want to become an All-Star and win championships. My dad is also telling me to stay humble and learn as much as possible from the veterans.”

“To play for the Italian national team has always been a dream of mine. I want to reach the 2021 Olympics. I’ve been in touch with the federation and it’s nice to see that they look at me as an important piece for the future of the national team. I can’t wait to play again for Italy, I’m sure we will form a good team.”
