Waived by the Spurs, the 22-year-old adds size, athleticism and versatility on the wing in New York

Free agent forward Jeremy Sochan plans to sign with the New York Knicks once he clears waivers, according to ESPN, via his agent Deirunas Visockas (Gersh Sports). Sochan was released by the San Antonio Spurs and drew interest from multiple teams before landing in New York.

The agreement is for the remainder of the season, giving the Knicks the wing depth they were seeking. Sochan brings a 6’8” frame and defensive versatility, with career averages of 10.4 points and 5.6 rebounds over 212 games with San Antonio.

He’s averaging 4.1 points and 2.6 rebounds in 28 games this season, after slipping out of the Spurs’ rotation amid roster changes.
