New Orleans Pelicans’ Zion Williamson suffered a finger injury

New Orleans Pelicans forward Zion Williamson left last night’s game against the Orlando Magic with a finger injury in his left hand.

Williamson sat out the final 7:24 of the game, which ended 117-108 in favour of the Magic.

Despite having the middle finger of his left hand taped up while answering questions from reporters, Williamson preferred not to speculate on the extent of the problem. Pelicans coach Willie Green confirmed the incident and promised an update soon.

The injury adds to those suffered by Brandon Ingram and Jose Alvarado, exacerbating the situation for a team that has suffered a fourth defeat in its last five games, all at home.
