Trey Murphy III will miss the remainder of the season after suffering a torn labrum and partial rotator cuff tear in his right shoulder. The New Orleans Pelicans announced that the injury occurred during Monday’s 127-81 loss to the Detroit Pistons, forcing Murphy to leave the game after just one minute.
Murphy was in the midst of a career-best season, averaging 21.2 points, 5.1 rebounds, and 3.5 assists per game. With the Pelicans already out of playoff contention (18-51), his absence further dims hopes for a strong finish to the season.
