The New Orleans Pelicans are unwilling to offer a maximum contract extension to Brandon Ingram. The player, who has one year left on his five-year deal signed in 2020, has been the subject of market speculation since last season.
Without an extension, Ingram will be an unrestricted free agent in the summer of 2025.
The Pelicans do not intend to extend the veteran’s contract with a maximum four-year deal worth $208.5 million until the 2028-29 season.
The Brandon Ingram situation is a thorny problem to solve for David Griffin. The next few weeks could determine the next half-decade in New Orleans. https://t.co/e8Vws17NRF
