Per Yahoo Sports, The NBA transition “take foul” during games is inching closer to being penalized beginning with the upcoming 22-23 season.
The team on offense will be given one free throw and possession of the ball if the team on defense employs the take foul.
The committee’s rule-change recommendations will be brought to the Board of Governors, where the BOG is expected to unanimously vote in favor of the change
The take foul is used to eliminate fastbreak opportunities where the defending team is at a numbers disadvantage.
