A league source told ESPN that the NBA is investigating Hawks guard Dejounte Murray’s conduct toward referees following Atlanta’s 129-121 home loss to the Boston Celtics in Game 4 of their Eastern Conference first-round series.
Murray, who contributed 23 points, nine rebounds, and six assists on Sunday, appeared to make contact with referee Gediminas Petraitis as he left the court. Murray was not available for postgame interviews.
The NBA typically decides on disciplinary actions before the next game in a series. Game 5 is set for Tuesday night in Boston, where a Celtics win would advance them to the conference semifinals against the Philadelphia 76ers, ending Atlanta’s season.
